Built for the brand, captured for the channel

An activation that delivers the experience and the asset.

Global brands come to Lapland because the visuals are already in place. Frozen lakes, aurora, ruska forests, glass-igloo lounges, ice-bar interiors — every backdrop earns its place in a brand film without a single set-dressing call.

We coordinate the activation and the production as one job. Our crew handles ice-driving programmes, multi-camera capture, drone work and post-handoff — so the experience and the brand film come out of one production, not three.

From a 24-hour influencer launch through a multi-day automotive press programme or a flagship brand-anniversary takeover, we plan the experience, host the guests, drive the cars and deliver the cut.

Custom ice-track build and conditioning on a frozen lake, with on-site instructor team for the driving programme.

Branded hospitality — heated kota lounges, Arctic-led catering, evening programming — co-located with the track for one continuous guest experience.

Multi-camera capture and aerial work running in parallel to the drive sessions, so the brand film, social cuts and press photography all came out of one production.

Case study · Influencer + product launch

Michelin influencer and product launch — a full Arctic venue, built end to end.

When Michelin came to Lapland for a multi-day influencer and product launch programme, the brief was bigger than a film shoot. We built the venue from the ground up — entertainment, catering, craft, hospitality — alongside the production team that captured it.

Xwander Nordic-built Michelin influencer and product launch camp in Finnish Lapland — heated kota structures, branded service, Sami entertainment programming

Full venue build across multiple Arctic days — heated kota structures, branded environments, lighting and ambient sound — designed to read on both the brand film and the influencer feed.

Local Sámi entertainers performing live, with cultural briefings for the influencer cohort so on-camera engagement read as informed, not performative.

Craft and catering programmes anchored in Lapland sourcing — Arctic-led menus, alcohol-positive pairings — so each evening hit a distinct sensory note.

One integrated crew running the experience and capturing the brand film, so what the audience watched on screen matched what the guests on site actually lived.

Every season is a launch window

Lapland activations, all year round.

Each season opens a different visual library and a different brand story. We help you choose the season that fits the product, the press window and the audience.

  • Premium automobile rear three-quarter view parked on a lonely snow-covered Arctic road at night, subtle green aurora curtain in the sky above

    Winter

The iconic Arctic activation — frozen-lake ice tracks, snow-laden pine, polar-night aurora drives, branded ice bars. Winter is the season that built Lapland's brand reputation; January through March is peak premium-automotive.

  • Close-up of a premium brand lounge inside a Sámi kota, a high-end product displayed on textured reindeer hide, soft natural light through the kota opening

    Spring

Crisp light, firm crust snow, dry roads at the edges. Spring is the value-dense Arctic — most of the winter visuals, more comfortable wardrobe, smaller logistics overhead. Best window for influencer programmes.

  • Large cinematic camera crane setup on a wooden jetty by a still Arctic lake, equipment silhouetted against the bright midnight sun

    Summer

Midnight Sun, lakes, fjords, fells — for brand stories that need wide open daylight and outdoor energy. Watersports, hiking, helicopter-led tours and golden-hour press dinners that run past midnight.

  • Influencer seen from behind holding a smartphone capturing a brand moment against a backdrop of vibrant autumn fells and ruska forest

    Autumn

Ruska delivers a cinematic colour grade straight out of camera. The first aurora of the season returns in September. Autumn is the launch window for premium-lifestyle and outdoor brands.

The Sámi traditionally recognise eight seasons in Lapland. Talk to us and we will match your activation to the season that fits the product, the press cycle and the visual you want to take home.

FAQ

The most usual questions

What brand managers, agency producers and automotive press leads ask before scoping an Arctic activation.

What kinds of activations do you typically run in Lapland?
Three workhorses: frozen-lake ice tracks for automotive press and consumer launches, branded ice-bar buy-outs with custom sculpture, and aurora-backdrop product reveals. We also support multi-day press programmes, influencer takeovers and brand-anniversary flagship weeks — usually combining at least two of those three formats.
Can you handle ice-track construction and certification for automotive driving programmes?
Yes. We design and groom ice tracks on certified frozen-lake locations, with minimum-ice-thickness measurement, perimeter safety, instructor rigs and on-site emergency cover. Insurance liaison is part of the build. The brand decides the layout brief; we deliver the track to spec, fully snow-cleared and rope-marked.
What is the realistic ice-track season in northern Finland?
Reliable ice-track conditions run from early January to mid-March. Late December occasionally opens up with cold-snap years; early April can stretch with the right lake but is not bookable as guaranteed inventory. Ice testing begins around early December and we publish track-readiness updates to clients weekly through the season.
Do you deliver the activation and the brand film as one production?
Yes. Our Ivalo-based crew runs both the activation logistics and the cinema-grade capture — multi-camera, heavy-lift drone, ice-driving rigs, social cuts and full post-handoff. That is the wedge versus separate production-plus-DMC stacks: one schedule, one weather call, one closing deliverable to the marketing team.
How do you handle embargo and confidentiality for unreleased products?
Standard. All crew sign NDAs before the activation. Lodge buy-outs ensure no public access. For unreleased automotive or tech products we run dedicated covered-transport routing, on-site guard rotation, controlled press credentialing and embargo-window social-channel discipline.
What is your sustainability story for ice-track and large-build activations?
We are a Sustainable Travel Finland operator. Ice-track sites are sourced on lakes with permits and Sámi consultation, restored after use, and snow-cleared without diesel grooming where possible. Per activation we publish a carbon-balanced summary, local-hire percentage and a Sámi-community engagement statement.
How early should we lock in dates for a January-March activation?
Premium automotive ice-track windows for the January-March peak are typically locked 9 to 14 months in advance — top frozen-lake locations and crew are scarce inventory. For influencer-tier brand activations in shoulder seasons (April, late November, October ruska) we can absorb shorter lead times of 12 to 16 weeks.
Can you support multi-language press programmes for European launches?
Yes. Standard languages: EN, FI, SV, NO, DE. On request with lead time: FR, ES, IT. For European automotive press waves we typically run parallel cohorts — one English, one German, one Romance-language — across a 7-to-10-day rolling activation, each with a dedicated multilingual producer.
